How can I save my palm tree from rotting?

I have a 6' Cordyline (?) palm that is in a large pot outside but it has gone rotten at the tip, the palms pull out easily, can it be salvaged ?

Alas, no. Unlike most other trees, once the growing heart of the palm dies, the tree is dead.





Rather than trying (in futile efforts) to save the plant, plan to prevent it in your replacement.
