Is it true that pointing at the palm of your hand with your forefinger is rude in Israel?

I read in a book about gestures that in Israel pointing at the palm of your hand with a forefinger has the meaning of 'The grass will grow on my hand before your words come true' ie Go f*** yourself. Is this true? And if not, has anyone come across this gesture anywhere else?

Is it true that pointing at the palm of your hand with your forefinger is rude in Israel?
Actually no, pointing the third finger at you or upward is an insult (i.e. F*** you).
Reply:No such gesture exists in Israel.
Reply:Middle finger, not forefinger.
Reply:Of course it exists- I guess most people just aren't aware of it...

I have no idea what it has to do with grass, but it's basically the same as raising your middle finger at someone- just a nicer way of saying what you mean.

But yes, I've seen it and know it exists round here...
Reply:Never heard of that and I have lived here for years.
Reply:maybe u mean the gesture "wait"?
Reply:I have never seen the gesture or heard of that. No.

I do have a neighbor that will say as a curse to someone that he hates "May your cellphone stop working" but there is no hand gesture that goes with it LOL
