Help with potting a pygmy date palm?

I ordered a 1 foot pygmy date palm online which is arriving without a pot. I wanted to know

1. What kind of soil is the best?

2. What size pot would be good for a 1 foot palm?

3. What kind of fertilizer should I give it, and how ofter?

The pot size depends on how othen you going to want to transplant. If you want to plant it and never move it then your going to want notting smaller then a 15 gl. Your going to want to make sure what ever pot you put it in has a drain hole. Your going to want to water it ever 3-4 days. Im not sure where you live. In the spring and summer you can fritilze ever 2 weeks. You should use grainulated fritalizer. Soil you should get palm mix if you can't find that get cactus mix. Got my info from having a plant nursery. Hope that helps and good luck.
Reply:probably sand and soil mixed 50/50

use the biggest pot you can get for the area it wil be in
