What type of freshwater fish would fit a tropical\beach\palm tree themed room?

Im making my bedroom a beach palm tree theme and I'm moving one of my fish tanks in there. Its a two gallon. i was thinking about lace tail guppies or puffer fish, but i dont know if they fit the 'tropical' theme.

What type of freshwater fish would fit a tropical\beach\palm tree themed room?
cardinal tetras would look nice.
Reply:The guppies sound nice. I would also say koi but they can grow too large for a two gallon tank.
Reply:angel fish- but not too many they are territorial.
Reply:Is the tank gonig to be heated and filtered?

If not, a nice plant is best.

If just filtered, depending on the room temperature, either two African Dwarf Frogs or a betta (If room temperature is about 24 degrees C)

If both, either a betta or two african dwarf frogs.

Anything else is far too big and active. Especially goldfish (6012" max size, generally 12"), koi (3ft adult size), guppies (too active and weak), catfish (none suitable), puffers (dwarf puffers are too messy, other species grow far too large) and most other things that have been suggested thus far.
Reply:Go with the guppies. They're colorful, hardy, and fun! I think the brightly colored neon tetras could work as well...and maybe a red tail shark for the fun of it. Small goldfish might work well.
Reply:Tequila Sunrise Guppies. They're silvery in front, and fade into a nice bright yellow, then gold, at the tail. Very pretty, and small, so you can have several. :)
Reply:hmm probably not - I would suggest neon or cardinal tetras, colorful and shiney and they swim alot and would do ok in the smaller tank - a 2 gallon tank would fit 3 tetras OR 2 guppies OR 1 puffer
Reply:gold fish
Reply:I own a Beta myself and they are THe best type of fish.. It doesn't die easily and mine is over 1 year old!!! Well, it doesn't take up much space either. BUT, don't put him or her in with other fish, or they will fihgt til they die!G'luck!
Reply:a beta...they look tropical and come in a variety of colors, and are fresh water...or the googly eyed goldfish
Reply:Angel fish, they are awesome, but like the woman before me said, you can't have too many in your tank. I have a 20 gallon that I have one angelfish, three zebra danios and two glass catfish.

I love my angelfish!
Reply:neon tetras are look tropically(the have bright blue and bright red stries along their sides and if you get alot they stay together like a school of fish), guppies or goldfish too!
Reply:a small catfish
Reply:koi would be the prettiest but get a bigger tank
