My sister is getting married in may in palm springs. The wedding will start in the late morning going into the afternoon. My hubby and I want to meet with some friends for dinner and drinks in the evening, after the wedding. None of us live in palm springs, so we dont know where to go?

How about just hitting the beach? This time of year it shouldn't be too crazy in the evening. You could bring food and wine picnic style. Most larger grocery stores, now-a-days, have everything you need for a picnic right in the deli section. You can get salads of all kinds, rotisserie chicken, even sophisticated pesto pizzas. As long as you don't forget cutlery and napkins as well as some plastic cups for your wine you are good to go. I did forget to mention a blanket as well. :)
I think it would be nice. Relaxed, outdoors, and not to crowded. You could just be yourselves.
