How do I get downloaded palm applications from my computer to my phone?

I downloaded a bunch of games and applications that are compatible with my current palm 650 and the phone I plan to get, 700p, but I can't get them from my computer to my device. the applications are always zipped, and I tried unzipping everything at once and extracting it to its own file, then moving the ENTIRE file over to my sd card. I load my sd card into my phone, and there's nothing on my card. I just don't understand. Someone help!!

Have you tried read the Manual????
Reply:LMAO

i have to agree.....READ THE MANUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Palm applications on an sd card have to be in the correct subdirectory for palmos to recognize them. IF you format an sd card on the phone, It should create the directories. I think the prc and pdb files need to be in a subdirectory called Palm, and media files go into a directory named "DCIM".

Alternatley, you can use a sync cable and Palm Quick install.
Reply:two ways...

HOTSYNCING.....

-plug cradle/sync cable into treo (tr), plug other end of cable into your PC via USB

-install Palm Desktop and its Hotsync application onto PC

-unzip all PRC and PDB files to be installed (in the Palm tech world, PRCs are mostly the executable programs while PDB files are extra files/resources that some PRC files may use). Many devs will include instructions on what to install in more complex cases.

-double click files to be installed. It should open up an open with windows. By double clicking those files or dragging and dropping the files into those windows, they'll be queued for installation next time you hit the hotysnc button.

-I don't know what Treo's use, but on my Tungsten T3, it's called QuickInstall and there's one window to install to handheld and another to the SD card

THROUGH A CARD READER

-all PRC and PDB files go here.

%26lt;root%26gt;\Palm\Launcher

keep in mind that some apps with PDB files are fickle. They may only run when its PRC, PDB, both, or some specific combo of them are on handheld memory and NOT the expansion card. Refer to dev's instructions on this, or also experiment.

I recommend using a freeware app called FileZ. It's a file manager for pOS (Palm OS) that lets u copy/move files around within the card and even betw the handheld and SD card

while we're at this....

all pics/images go here

\DCIM

All mp3 files and other audio files go here

\Audio

Documents (like Office documents, but other types like ebboks and PDFs may have another directory)

\documents
