What to do in Palm Springs for a bachelorette party?

We are having a weekend in palm springs for a bachelorette party. Any ideas on what to do. Nightlife fun stuff for girls night.

What to do in Palm Springs for a bachelorette party?
There are several options:

You could go to Costas which is a club inside the JW Marriott in Palm Desert. It is really fun with lots of good dancing and a young, good looking crowd. You could also go to South Beach which is in Rancho Mirage which is fun, but sometimes a younger crowd (like 21-24). If you guys want to go shopping you could go to downtown Palm Springs, The River at Rancho Mirage, or go to the outlet malls which is in Moreno Valley (about 20 minutes away- off the 10)

There are also several casinos in the area. One in Palm Springs, one in Rancho Mirage and one in Indio (about 15 minutes away). Have fun!!!

Oh yeah- and I'm not so sure about the previous girl's suggestion to go to Las Casuelas for dinner. Its a chain- there are much better places! Try El Mirasol on E Palm Canyon or Armando's on El Paseo in Palm Desert if you are looking for Mexican. Or if you are looking for a good steakhouse you could go to Fleming's, Ruth's Chris, Wally's Desert Turtle (expensive, though) or Sullivan's.
Reply:We were just there and had a blast... There is a Mexican restaurant on the main strip for dinner, Las Casuelas Terraza.... There are so many bars, but we partied at daves Lost Highway, I thinks thats what it was called... Pleanty of music and cheap drinks!!! Its on one of the side streets! So much fun! You will hear the music from the streets! Theres Karaoeoke.... Its so much fun! And may I suggest the 7 Springs Inn and Suites on Indian Canyon Road
Reply:My advise is see if there can be a location change

Has anyone found an easy way to tranfer ALL thier Palm Pilot infomation to the new apple iPhone?

is it even doable? Have you done it?

I have some much data in my contacts and calendar and memos on my Tungsten T5 Palm Pilot - the thought of transfering/imputting it manually to a new apple iPhone is so unattractive !

Has anyone found an easy way to tranfer ALL thier Palm Pilot infomation to the new apple iPhone?
It's definitely doable with a program called DataPilot, which makes it a breeze.

DataPilot also lets you manage your contact information, access the Internet and check e-mails while on the go. You can personalize your cell phone with ring tones and images, and stay in sync with your appointments in Outlook or Outlook Express.

I have more information at the link below, coupon codes, etc.

What do sprouts from palm trees look like as they first emerge?

Will they emerge directly over the seed planted or to the side or what any help would be great thanks.

What do sprouts from palm trees look like as they first emerge?
A coconut is a seed, of the palm tree. When the coconut germinates, it will crack open, and a small cluster of palm leaves will sprout out of the coconut. It looks a bit like a miniature palm tree, growing wright out of the coconut.
Reply:Look like a blade of grass and it could either over the seed or to one side.
Reply:They look like little green leaves coming from the ground. Where they emerge really depends on how the seed was placed.

Does Anyone Know How to Remove the Faceplate on a Palm Treo 650 for Cleaning?

I have a lil' bit of dust between the plastic and the actual screen of my Palm Treo 650 and I can't figure out how to lift the faceplate off w/o tearing up the phone so that I can clean it off? Anyone know? Thank You!

Does Anyone Know How to Remove the Faceplate on a Palm Treo 650 for Cleaning?
It takes a T6 torx wrench. Take off the battery cover and also take out the rubber antenna plug. You have to take the whole thing apart. I have done it several times to rinse the buttons off. My kids always spill stuff on my treo. You can get a T6 at homedepot.

What is the best palm tree out there?

What the best palm to buy?

What is the best palm tree out there?
kentia
Reply:Best indoor palm? Definitely Kentia Palm. (Howeia fosteriana)

Best palm for small yards? The Veitchia family like the Christmas Palm, or maybe Foxtail Palm (Wodyetia bifurcata)

Hardiest (available) Palm? Windmill Palm (Trachycarpus fortunei)

Hardiest feather-leaf palm? Pindo Palm (Butia capitata)

Most stately (large scale): The Royal Palms (Roystonea family)

Best miniature palm (indoors or outdoors) Pygmy Date Palm (Phoenix roebelenii)
Reply:I don't expect that you are going to get a confident answer without knowing what climate you are in and how you are wanting to use the palm. Some stay small while others tower to the height of a 3 story building. Could you elaborate as to location?
Reply:The hardiest palms are Sago. There were a lot of them, in sheltered spots, north of Dallas Tx. You wouldn't get below 15 degrees for more than a day or so, there. Even so, they lost all their leaves each year.

If you get colder than that, you can't have an outdoor palm.

If you never get frost, then you need to choose on the leaf shape you like, and the size you can stand. Look for a local Arboretum to see what grows in your area, and what they look like when they are big.

How do I convert Palm files to Windows?

I am finally making the switch from a Treo device to a Blackberry device. Was wondering if there is any shareware that I can use to convert my addressbook, memo files and calendar to Windows from the Palm platform?

How do I convert Palm files to Windows?
If you have a palm desktop on your windows computer some of the information can be transfered. If you are hotsyncing to outlook or other compatible data programs the Blackberry might import the data. Since I don't have the Blackberry I am not sure, so consult with Blackberry'sFAQ website.

I have a kentia palm growing in a pot outside, which has spots on it's leaves..?

I live in South Australia, and the palm is in a sheltered position just outside the back door. It has what looks very much like black mold on the surface of the leaves. When I touch it, it feels oily and sticky.

Can anyone tell me what it might be, and give me some simple remedies? I'd prefer not to use anything toxic.

I have a kentia palm growing in a pot outside, which has spots on it's leaves..?
Take 15 tomatoe leaves (borrow from a neighbor/garden) and 2 small onions. Dice them up real small and steep them in 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol over night. Paint it on the leaves with a sponge like paint brush, both sides. It will remove the black spot mold and help to prevent it from returning.

Make sure your palm gets atleast 2 hours of sunlight every day. It requires it in order to remain healthy.
Reply:Good luck. It worked for mine. It also works really good for roses, only I cheat on that and pour it into a spray bottle and just douse the devil right out of them. So far, so good! Report It

Reply:don worry just get this spray it might help you might find it in gardenary shops

What are those lines/creases on the inside of your palm called?

Do they even have a specific name or are they simply nameless? In addition, do they ultimately determine how your hand closes or are they merely the *result* of how your hand closes? For example, if you look at your hand with your palm facing you, and then close your hand into a fist, you will notice that your hand bends/folds in direct correlation to wherever the lines are on you hand. Is this because your hand has these creases in them or is it that just by the unique way your hand happens to close *caused* those creases?

What are those lines/creases on the inside of your palm called?
Well, to Palm Readers (although I don't believe in this), they're called Life Line, Heart Line, Head Line, Fate Line, etc. See this link: http://www.psychic-junkie.com/inside-pal...

If they all have specific medical names, I don't know what they are.
Reply:Each line/crease has a different name. Life line, heart line, head line, success line etc. (Refer to any palm reading book.)

I don't think they're a result of how your hand closes because even new borns have lines, and how long have they been closing and unclosing their palms ^^;
Reply:It sounds logical as the way to put it, they also say, it's called your life line, there are people called hand readers, they say they can read your future in the lines, not so sure I trust that.

Is there a difference between coconut tree and a palm tree?

My mom and I have been arguing about this ever since she painted what she calls a coconut tree in my room. Aren't coconut trees part of the palm tree 'species' not like a totally different 'breed' or whatever?

Is there a difference between coconut tree and a palm tree?
Coconut palm, Date palm, etc. You are right, there are many kinds of palm trees.
Reply:Without going into detail, let me discuss the artistic perspective.

For Southern California and Florida there are symbolic drawings of palms. The commonly bent trunk with serrated palm branches looks like a cross between the coconut palm and some of the common "Mexican" palms that are found in California. If the drawing had coconuts then you could say it was a coconut palm. If it was a more upright palm it could be arguably be more of a Californian Palm.

If it was a thicker trunked palm then it could be argued that a date palm was drawn, otherwise it would be an imaginary representation of what the artist depicted as a palm.
Reply:yes, there are coconut palms, and date palms and unfruited palms...a large species with many variations
Reply:same species, different plant
Reply:I think a coconut produces coconut and a palme produces a fruit called date. I think they have different sizes too.
Reply:They belong to the same family Palmae Coconut bears edible fruit and water while palm don't
Reply:Coconut trees produce coconuts,

Palm trees produce dates (the fruit, not the social interaction).

How do I transfer a purchased iTune to my Palm Pilot?

I've purchased for the first time today, but noticed my songs aren't saved anywhere except the iTune Library. So, how are they exported to my Palm Pilot?

How do I transfer a purchased iTune to my Palm Pilot?
You can't do it directly, as far as I know. Apple uses its own proprietary AAC. format.

I do it in a bothersome, time-consuming way. I burn the song to disc, then I rip it to mp3.

Then I now transfer the mp3 to my T5. Voila!

The problem is that all the coding and re-encoding degrades the quality a tad.

Thus, for every song I have purchased, I have two copies. One in Apple protected form, and another as a regular mp3 file. There has to be an easier way, and I have heard of underground converters, but I have never used them.

Best Wishes!
Reply:You cannot transfer iTunes songs to anything but an iPod. However, you can use many Palm handhelds as mp3 players. Which Palm do you have? I used the Palm Tungsten C, and now the Palm LifeDrive as an mp3 player. They both worked great.
Reply:You'd be able to do it by bypassing Apple FairPlay DRM (Digital Rights Management).

You need to download and install a program called QTFairUse6 from: http://rapidshare.de/files/31103061/QTFa...

Afterwards, you can do what ever you want with the mp3 files.

Enjoy!

Good Luck,

Can I still do regular text messaging on a palm treo 650 with cingular? Or do I have to do SMS?

Regular text messaging on a cell phone is SMS. It might not be called that on all phones, but that's the industry standard format for sending text messages over the cellular networks.

What are some good ACOUSTIC guitar songs to practice/learn how to palm mute?

I am learning how to play guitar and palm muting is so far the hardest thing I've encountered. Also if you can tell me some good songs to practice finger picking (already know Stairway to Heaven, and Dust in the wind)... but I'm looking more for palm mute stuff! Thanks

What are some good ACOUSTIC guitar songs to practice/learn how to palm mute?
acoustic stuff ain't really palm muted and it helps if usya how good u r but there is a song called for my fathe rby andy mckee
Reply:palm muting on an acoustic guitar is not something that's commonly done. Muting with the fret hand is, though. Check out Jack Johnson.
Reply:Try the circle of chords G Em C D. as in Monster Mash. It gives a good ballad feel and works well with the palm damping. Hope this helps.
Reply:I would think the best guitar is the one you are most comfortable playing overall. That applies to any technique you are trying to learn. If you only have one guitar, and that is the one you practice with, then there is your answer. Buying a guitar to learn a technique wouldn't make any sense to me.

What is a good palm tree to have next to a pool in Arizona?

I have just moved here (Arizona) from Indiana and am going to be doing some landscaping in my backyard now that my pool is complete. I want to include some palm trees, but I'm not sure which ones will be less invasive or require less maintenance. The lamdscaper recommended queen palms, but they're not the prettiest things I've ever seen :)

What is a good palm tree to have next to a pool in Arizona?
You may find that not all paoms grow well in your area. You have to take into consideration both the summer heat and the winter cold (there are areas in Arizona where it snows!).

My best suggestion, since you have already checked with your landscaper, is to go to a local nursery (not a home improvement store), but a nursery that has been in business in your area for a long while.

The people there should have really good info on what will grow in your area and may have something more to your liking. I happen to love Queen palms.

Where can I find free clip art of palm trees for a tattoo?

I want to get a palm tree tattoo. I want it to look real with maybe some sand or beach at the bottom. When I search google, all I find is crappy websites unrealistic pictures. thanks!

Where can I find free clip art of palm trees for a tattoo?
I have no idea about where to find the art but I do have some VERY IMPORTANT advice. I am a tattoo artist and have been at it for almost 11 years. No matter what you pick DON’T try to put to much detail into to small of a space. Over time the image will blur. So talk it over with your artist to make sure that you get something that looks great and will age great. Always look at an artist’s portfolio and try to catch him or her at work to take a peak at freshly finished work. We are artist and sadly some great ones get sloppy over the years. Watch for on going good work and Extreme attention to cleanliness. You wouldn’t want your tattoo or potentially your life ruined by any infections. There is way more than AIDS out there to worry about. Hepatitis and Staff are a lot more common problems. So take your time Find a Clean artist that will work with you openly. If you don’t like their attitude go find a new artist. And look in BOOKS or anything else with a picture on it! There are a ton of great images that I have used over the years that came out of magazine ads, library books, tee shirts etc…. Oh and go in during the week if possible. It is not as busy so it will be easier to get one on one time with your artist.

How Long Will It Take My Chinese Windmill Palm To Grow 5 Feet?

I have a Chinese Windmill Palm Tree how many year will it take before it's a grown tree?

How Long Will It Take My Chinese Windmill Palm To Grow 5 Feet?
Palms will need to be fertilized with a complete fertilizer mixed for palms four [4] times a year and the fertilizer waterin in each time unless you use a formulation labeled "slo-release". They will require watrer and care to reach maximum size.

Under the best of conditions the palm will increase around 10 to 15% each year in height and diameter until it reaches its adult size. Remember the palm is a member of the grass family and does not mature until it has developed all of its feeding root system.
Reply:depends on soil conditions and weather conditions

How can I change the battery on my Palm Tungsten E?

I would like to change my battery myself on my Palm Tungsten E. The company wants to charge $150 to do it. Does anyone know how to do it? And what kind of battery it takes?

How can I change the battery on my Palm Tungsten E?
Go here and watch the take apart videos which can be found in the "Repair Instructions". This site also sells replacement batteries:

http://www.pdaparts.com/

Try reviving the battery first by performing an "Incradle Reset", instructions can be found here:

http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.E...

This may sync the charging circuit with the condition of your existing battery and allow a full charge. Try this before replacing as this has helped many Palm users with rechargeables here in the Answers section.

This has worked on my Handspring Visor Prism.

Good luck.

Why do they paint the bottoms of some palm trees white?

I saw a row of palm trees in Miami, painted white on the bottom. Why is this?

Why do they paint the bottoms of some palm trees white?
I think that all trees were whitewashed white back in the years of the early automobile so the drivers could see them at night-- their headlights were no better than candles. Then as headlights got better-- the owners decided they like the white trunks on their property.

Oh-- whitewash was also used as a insect deterrent-- applied thickly it filled those cracks/holes in the bark. AND one more reason-- the whitewash prevented bark burn from the sun.

There you are-- memorabilia from the old!
Reply:IT KEEPS THE PALMETTO BUGS AWAY
Reply:Try contacting the Miami Grounds Keepers to ask them. I think they paint them to keep them from freezing in the winter. The paint keeps the moisture out of the base of the tree and therefore keeps the moisture from freezing and causing the trunk to break open and then falling over.
Reply:It stops certain kinds of bugs from climbing up tree and eating, boring, and/or damaging tree.

Help me chose a palm tree for planting?

I have a wide open space that I'd like to plant a Phoenix Canariensis (aka Phoenix Palm or Canary Island Palm) in. They look like slow growers. How much will it grow per year? I don't want to wait forever to fill out that plot.

I also have Washingtonia Filifera palms (aka Desert Fan Palm) that grow great, about 1 meter/year. But I prefer the Phoenix for the rich crown %26amp; space filling.

Both types of palms grow great in our area.

Help me chose a palm tree for planting?
I have a Phoenix Palm in the backyard. It is magnificent and was already here when we bought the house. It grows about half a meter a year. You could also grow a Golden Cane as it is a good privacy screener. Or, you could grow some tall single trunked palms in a group planting.
Reply:why don't you try a phoenix dactylifera ( date palm ) they are similar , but not as decorative , but they are not as dangerous with no sharp spines at the leaf base , particularly when young .

but with the date palm , it grows fairly rapid .

i personally like a self fronding palm ,like a fox tail or carpentaria , but you might be in the right growing area . good luck .
Reply:I would choose indigenous plants, regardless. Cabbage Palms are original Florida palms.
Reply:The canary Island Palm will put on 2-3 foot a year usually, but always depends on how well it takes. With its larger head, it usually won't grow vertically as fast as your Washingtonia. For your situation (Large open area) it is still probably your best choice for a single planting since it has the largest head for Desert conditions. My only other suggestion would be a multiple planting of Washingtonia.

If you are in a Part of Arizona where it doesn't get colder then 30 degrees, a Queen Palm might serve as a good option.
Reply:if u prefer phoenix then go for it.

How do I retrieve lost information from my palm destop and z22?

I tried to HotSync my z22 and lost all the information on my z22 and palm desktop. Is it retrievable and how do I go about finding the two months of information that I have lost?

How do I retrieve lost information from my palm destop and z22?
It is not retrievable.
Reply:Is your Palm folder still on your C drive? Look in the Palm folder (in your Program Files folder on the C drive) for a folder with your Palm Username. In that folder should be folders with names like "Backup" "address" "datebook" "expense" and others. Look in the "Datebook" folder - there should be a file called "datebook.dat." (the data file) and "datebook.bak" (the backup file) If either of those files are there (hopefully both), your files Should be retrievable. Here's how to retrieve your files:

1) Copy your Palm folder to another location, such as the Desktop or My Documents.

2) Reinstall Palm Desktop and everything else from your Z22 CD. This will create a new "Palm" folder in Program Files.

3) Copy the following files into the folder with your Palm username: "Datebook," "Address," "Backup," "Memopad," "Todo," and "Expense." If it asks if you want to replace the existing files with the same name, click "yes"

4) Do a hotsync. Your Palm should (hopefully) now have all the old information back on it again.

Good luck...

How does a Wi-Fi card for a palm handheld work?

I will be traveling in the spring and the Hotel I am staying at has wireless Internet. I do not have a Wi-Fi card for my palm but now I am planning to purchase one. If I buy a card, does this mean that I will be able to connect to the Internet anywhere there is a signal and will I acually be able to veiw web pages and send and receive email. Can someone explain how the whole thing works so I know if I should spend the money or not?

How does a Wi-Fi card for a palm handheld work?
Yes you will be able to connect where ever there is a Wifi connection available, but you will need more than just the card in order to do so. You will have to install web browsing software. Many Wifi cards will come bundled with the software, but if the one that you choose does not there are many sites where you can download what you need for little or no cost. Treocentral.com is one, and Cnet.com is another. You can also try at the Palm website.

It is certainly worth the expense. You will be able to view most websites as well as send and receive email. If you have a web based email account you wont need anything additional, but if you are using a diferent email software you will need seperate software for your Palm. You will configure it the same way your Outlook or whatever else you may be using is set up. The rest is just like your PC at home.

Otherwise, you'll have everything you need. Mine had a built in T-Mobile Hotspot promo that I'm still using, but don't really need to subscribe to.

Can I grow a palm tree?

I live in USDA zone 6B, but our winters have been much warmer than usual over the past few years. Our winter highs will usually reach 55. There are a few palms that are growing succesfully around here. Can I grow a large palm, and what type if so.

Can I grow a palm tree?
Sure! If that's what you wanna do, go for it!

"Most hardy palm growers recommend protecting the palm from the climate for at least the first two years that it is in the ground. The palm should be mulched with a deep layer of fall leaves or other material. The palm can then be wrapped in burlap, bubble plastic, a spun landscape material such as "remay" or "garden blanket," or even an old sheet or blanket. If you use a non-porous material such as plastic, it is best if air space is left between the palm and the material. This air space may not be needed if you only protect the palm during cold spells."

One last tip: "If you are planting palms which are not reliably hardy in your area, you may want to plant them in clumps. This makes them easier to protect, and you should expect that some of them will probably die. A clump of five small palms may grow into a nice medium clump of three palms in a few years."

Why when i make a fist my palm start to hurt?

how can i make a fist without my palm hurting?

Why when i make a fist my palm start to hurt?
A proper fist should be made by curling the fingers inward and square off the knuckles. When you look at your fingers, they should form a 90 degree angle with the back or your hand and your second joints should be in a straight line. This protects the hand from damage on impacting the fist and increases surface area. The wrist should be slightly bent downward so your hand never goes backward or straight to the wrist when you strike something.

Where do you find palm fronds and nails in Sims Castaway?

I have been searching forever for palm fronds and nails. I need the palm fronds to make a skirt. I was told that you could cut down trees but I can't find any trees that it will allow me to cut down.

Where do you find palm fronds and nails in Sims Castaway?
For the DS:

You can trade for palm fronds with Dr. Feelgood or wait for them to wash up on the beach. (Instead of the crate washing up it will be a palm frond.)

To trade for the palm fronds with Dr. Feelgood you will need nails. The nails will wash up on the beach in a crate every once in a while.
Reply:maybe it wont let you cut down the tree cause you need a certain tool, or maybe its a certain tree...
Reply:Cut down trees.

Is it true that pointing at the palm of your hand with your forefinger is rude in Israel?

I read in a book about gestures that in Israel pointing at the palm of your hand with a forefinger has the meaning of 'The grass will grow on my hand before your words come true' ie Go f*** yourself. Is this true? And if not, has anyone come across this gesture anywhere else?

Is it true that pointing at the palm of your hand with your forefinger is rude in Israel?
Actually no, pointing the third finger at you or upward is an insult (i.e. F*** you).
Reply:No such gesture exists in Israel.
Reply:Middle finger, not forefinger.
Reply:Of course it exists- I guess most people just aren't aware of it...

I have no idea what it has to do with grass, but it's basically the same as raising your middle finger at someone- just a nicer way of saying what you mean.

But yes, I've seen it and know it exists round here...
Reply:Never heard of that and I have lived here for years.
Reply:maybe u mean the gesture "wait"?
Reply:I have never seen the gesture or heard of that. No.

I do have a neighbor that will say as a curse to someone that he hates "May your cellphone stop working" but there is no hand gesture that goes with it LOL

How come the palm trees in Phoenix don't have coconuts?

I'm from the east coast and I was always under the false impression that all Palm trees have coconuts like in the movies. Now I see that in Phoenix there are no coconuts..I'm wondering if it is a result of intentional cross breeding, or is it simply that it is a different species of palm tree which does not naturally produce coconuts. Ive also wondered if it was a gender issue, as in maybe only females produce coconuts and so they only plant males to avoid people getting hit with falling coconuts. Im of course speculating on something which i have no understanding of whatsoever, so any insight will be greatly appreciated thanks.

How come the palm trees in Phoenix don't have coconuts?
There are 2600 species of palm tree. Only one of those produces coconuts. Do the math.
Reply:Here in South Carolina, the palm trees have small berry-like fruit. I've grown a couple from seeds I picked up down at the beach. These are palmetto trees, so they are different from coconut palms and date palms. Here's a site with different species of palm trees:

http://www.palm-tree.net/species.html
Reply:Because they're not coconut palms.

There are about 200 genera and 2600 species of palms in the world... only a few produce what you'll think of as coconuts. Some palms, for instance, produce dates, others betel nuts, carnauba wax, rattan, oil, and a lot of other products.

Mostly what I remember seeing in Phoenix during the one brief visit I had were about three species of Washingtonia (fan palm) and a lot of Phoenix canariensis (Canary Island date palm)

Coconut palm, Cocos nucifera, is introduced in the US-- you'll see it in FL, NC, HI and in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Reply:I believe that the majority of the palms in and around AZ are date palms and other NON coconut producing species.

Here's some info on the coconut palm
Reply:Because there are different varieties of palm trees.
Reply:On the west coast we mostly have date palms. Now and then you'll notice a funny thing that has lots of little round green things. Most of them aren't edible though. I think in florida most palm trees do have coconuts if that helps any!

I have tons of these applications and files and folders for my Palm Z22 on my macbook, and I want it out of my hard drive. How I do completely delete everything from the Palm software CD? Does anyone know where you can buy cold hardy palm trees in Missouri?

Looking for cold hardy palm trees around 5 gallon bucket size in Missouri. I need a palm tree that will survive winters that dip down to 5 to 0 degrees from time to time. Is there a nursery where I could pick one up? NOTE I am not looking for seeds I am looking for 5 gallon bucket sized cold hardy palms. Already established! Willing to spend up to 200 dollars. Thanks for your time!!

No greenhouse for them to live in. If you have no idea or dont know what a cold hary palm is (yes they exist just type cold hardy palm into google) then please do not waste my time by answering sorry to be harsh but it gets old we people do that.

Does anyone know where you can buy cold hardy palm trees in Missouri?
Get on a link called hardiestpalms.com and plan to spend more than $200.00 for them.

For a 5 gallon pot of anything in Massachusetts at a good garden center,$200.00 is bottom price, and no I don't think it is O.K. to be harsh because you are old! My mom is 92 and still gardens, and is never harsh.

Harsh shows no character on your part!!!
Reply:What you could do is check your local Lowes We sell Palm trees in our nursury section but the thing is being they are a trpoical plant you have to keep them out of certain weather like cold weather bring them in to the house during the cold season and make sure they get enough water. the little card that usually comes with the plant tells you some tips on how to take care of them.
Reply:In the Kansas City area, the local news had a story about

the renting of palm trees.

You can rent the trees from Feb thru Sept or Oct for $400.

The company cares for the trees during your rental.

Then they come a take the tree back to their huge greenhouse for the winter.

www.thekansascitychannel.com
Reply:I don't think there is a palm that will grow in a Missouri winter. You might try an indoor variety.
Reply:Hi there! Have you tried looking it up at www.yellowpages.com ?
Reply:I didn't know they made such things
Reply:I'm in Florida, I don't know of any palms that can survive in freezing weather, UNLESS you place it in an large pot with saucer and bring it inside in the winter. Anything below 38 will hurt it. They do well in pots inside, just keep away from direct heat and mist them and fertilize them.
Reply:an arborescent monocot such as a palm may be hard to grow in Missouri, I could be (and probably am) wrong. However, when and if you select a palm tree, keep in mind that a palm will reach its maximum trunk diameter before any height will develop on it. therefore, buy one based on height, not diameter as with trees.
Reply:I did Yahoo "Cold Hardy Palm trees", Result:

In fact, The Hardiest Palms, a Web site dedicated exclusively to disseminating information on cold hardy palm trees, notes that one species of palm tree has withstood temperatures as low as -20°F!"

What to do about ezcema on palm of hand?

I read all this help for ezcema about not taking as many showers and baths. But what do you do when you have it on the palm of your hand, c/ ya gotta wash your hands all the time so you don't spread germs?

What to do about ezcema on palm of hand?
I have had eczema on my face for the past 7 years. I was desperate to get rid of it.

After we moved and I stopped eating at my favorite Japanese restaurant, it went away. Then I started using a new skin lotion and it came back. What was in the lotion? Seaweed. That is how I found my allergy. I haven't had eczema since I cut it out of my diet.

My friend removed dairy from her diet (she also has it on her hands) and hers went away completely.

When did you start getting the eczema. Did you start eating something or using a new product? If you think that an allergy is causing your skin condition, try removing it for a couple of weeks and see if your hands improve.

In the meantime, try cetaphil for washing your hands. I found it to be the least irritating of all the cleansers. Its extremely gentle and you can carry a small container in your purse or bag for washing your hands out in public.

Good luck.

Since you have a latex allergy, have you been handling something new since you started to get the eczema on your hands? New hand cream? Perhaps some of the following natural foods are in your shampoo or hand soaps.

"Curiously, certain fruits such as bananas, chestnuts, kiwi fruit, avocado and tomato show cross-reactivity, perhaps because of resemblance to a latex protein component..... (read on in the article below)
Reply:Aveeno works well, but it only helps. You need a prescription from a dematologist to get something that will actually clear it up. Also, stay away from chocholate.
Reply:I've never actually heard of a case of eczema in the palms, but probably before sleeping, putting on an eczema specific ointment to clear it up would take care of it.
Reply:Go to www.GoXanthones.com/Olivia and check out the pictures of a day with ezcema and how she got rid of it.

My niece had it on her neck and she got rid of it by applying a natural juice called mangosteen.

check the science of this fruit and the xanthones in it on www.pubmed.com
Reply:I have this problem sometimes too. It is caused by contact allergies to one substance or another. Actually what works the best is a cream with cortizone in it, such as Cortaid. You can get this over the counter. You might try to find out what substance that you are allergic to and avoid them, for me it was latex gloves and hair gels or hair products that contain alcohol (you put it in your hands and rub it in your hair....I wasn't washing my hands good enough....) Good Luck to you....
Reply:I have it on the back of my hand, so I know what you mean. Eucerin Calming Creme really works. I could actually see a visible difference in 1 day!
Reply:my daughter has ezcema and i use Aveeno hand lotion for babies

How to take care of outdoors Palm Trees?

Previous owners of my house had 7-9 ft Palm trees and nearly half have dead stems on them. Is there anything I am suppose to do to the base/shaft of the tree to allow it to grow. Other than prune the dead stems? And what is the best way to prune these stem, just take scissors/knife and cut as close to the main shaft of the trees.

Help me.

Thanks.

Just remove the dead fronds. You will probably have to use a pair of loppers. The fronds are pretty tough after they have dried out.

How do I transfer the address book on my Palm Desk to a Black Berry?

I have a treo 680. I use the Palm Desktop to keep track of all the contact info. I just bought a Black Berry. How do I copy all the contact info from my Palm Desktop to the Black Berry?

How do I transfer the address book on my Palm Desk to a Black Berry?
Install the Blackberry "Desktop Manager" then click on the "Switch Device Wizard" and it will give you an option to "Switch from another device to a Blackberry device". So this will allow you to Import data from your Palm into your New BB. (Both devices must be connected to your computer)
Reply:You are right but after 4 hours of trying to get the two devices to connect...I finally discovered in fine print on the Blackberry doc that Switch Wizard only works with Palm Desktop 4.1 NOT 4.2. So I had to uninstall Palm 4.2 and reinstall 4.1. Then it worked! Report It

Reply:Did the Blackberry, come with the crackberry desktop? If you go back to the store that sold you the new device, have them put the info from the treo to the new one, then when you sync it to the comp it will come up that way.

What's the difference between the Palm 700p and 700w for Verizon??

What's the difference between the Palm 700p and 700w for Verizon? Is this the best phone to link up to Outlook and internet browsing?

What's the difference between the Palm 700p and 700w for Verizon??
The main difference is the operating system. The 700w is a windows based phone, the 700p uses the Palm OS. To me it is a Coke - Pepsi thing. Some people swear by Palm OS (it is quick reliable, but it is an older program and not very attractive to look at. The internet is provided by blazer which may take some getting used to). The windows based phones may intergrate a little easier with Outlook and internet explorer. I suggest you go to cnet.com to get a good review of both phones.

What type of SD card is supposed to be used in a palm tx?

I just bought a palm tx, what type of SD card is supposed to be used? a mini or normal sized? also, i imagine that an ultra SD card is just faster? thanks!

What type of SD card is supposed to be used in a palm tx?
Palm PDAs use regular SD cards, and have a max limit of 2 GB. The "Ultra" (faster) cards are better, but regular ones work just fine too.
Reply:SD mini is a different kind of card than just regular SD. Palm TX uses regular SD
Reply:Palm have tested their devices with 2 GB size of SD cards, nothing bigger than that and they recommend users to use 2 GB cards for the better performence of the device. Correct, the Ultra SD card is preffred.

What's the difference in function between a belt sander and a palm sander?

Can I take a belt sander and change the grit to do the job of a palm sander? Or is that a bad idea?

What's the difference in function between a belt sander and a palm sander?
That is kind of a bad idea, because a belt sander takes off more material than a palm, and it doesn't give nice flat even results. You can buy a palm sander for a pretty reasonable price. It would be worth it if you want a smooth surface.
Reply:Thanks for the 10 points and good luck.just take your time and do a little and check it so you don't gouge it or take off too much. Report It

Reply:A belt sander is used more to take off a larger amount of surface on a certain area, compared to the palm sander being used to sand a surface to a more smooth surface.

Example: I use a belt sander to sand down the bottom of a solid wood door to make it swing open with out rubbing the carpet. I use a palm sander to smooth out the face of the door so I can stain it.
Reply:Belt sander would be used more for a rough sanding to remove a lot of material. A palm sander is more of a finishing type of sander. No you can't/shoundn't change the grit of the belt to take place of the palm.
Reply:As the others have stated, a belt sander is typically used to 'remove stock'. I believe 'Deputy' meant to say he would use a palm sander on the face of a door to prep it for staining.

There are also different types of palm sanders... orbital and random orbital. In a production setting, we use random orbitals to finish sand a piece of wood.

If you put the same grit sandpaper on both, the belt sander, and the palm sander (no matter which type)... you will still see a big difference in the wood surface, because of how the sanders operate. A belt sander runs the sandpaper in one direction only. It also tends to run fast, as compared to a palm sander... so, if a fine grit belt is used, it will often burn.

A wood surface will have little tiny fibers that get raised during the work on the wood. This leaves it feeling rough to the touch, and it does not accept stain evenly. To get the best results with finishing, you want to eliminate as many of those fibers as possible, without raising new ones. Due to the nature of the belt sander, it will almost always be raising new fibers. A palm sander will cut more of those loose fibers off, without raising as many new ones, because it cuts in multiple directions. As you proceed to change grit... lower to higher... those loose fibers get smaller and smaller. In a production setting, we use a 'sanding sealer' to actually lock those fibers in place, and provide a protective coat, to keep new ones from being raised. (Sanding sealers are now available over the counter wherever wood finishes are sold)

In a production environment, it is quite common to use a large belt sander (think 3 to 4ft, hehehe) to rough sand a piece on edge. Most flat surfaces are run thru a widebelt sander...but these machines are made to actually move the belt back and forth in tiny increments to help prevent burn. But they are STILL sent thru either random orbital sanding, or a special machine that imitates this type of sanding.

If you are only going to use a palm sander one time in your life... just go rent, or borrow one. If you think you might do this again sometime.. go ahead and invest in one. If possible get one with 'random' orbital motion. You can find them in electric or air powered models.

Have Fun
Reply:No you can't change the belt and get a smooth surface. The belt sander runs in a rotating motion and the the palm sander give you an orbital motion.Fine sandpaper tends to burn wood with a belt sander.

How can I help my Palm Tree?

Dear Yahoo,

My palm tree has green stuff growing on the outside and it won't shoot any new leaves. What's wrong and how can I fix the problem?

How can I help my Palm Tree?
It depends on where you live and what type of palm it is. A lot of palms are slow growers, so that may explain the shoot (or lack thereof) problem. Also, the porous surface of the palm trunk is a great place for many things to grow. The green stuff may not be a problem, just some plant that's found a home. If you post what type of palm it is and your location, we may be able to help a little more.
Reply:Can not help. I live in Arkansas. But call the green plant docter at the green Nurs.

Hi, i have a Torbay Palm tree, 8ft high in a pot, which has lost all its leaves? Will they grow again?

It originally came from devon, and was planted in a garden, I had it shipped to yorkshire %26amp; now have it in a large pot. Over a period of 3-4 mths the leaves steadily began to droop, then fall off and over the winter the remaining leaves have turned brown and dropped off. Is there anythin i can do to help it grow again? Or has the palm died? At present there are no leaves on at all now. Can someone help?

Straight answer.. NO, it's dead as a dodo. Compost it.
Reply:Because of the mild climate, Torbay Palm trees are a common sight along the coast. However, this 'palm' is in fact a Cabbage Tree originating from New Zealand.

Reply:My sister in Wakefield had a Torbay Cordyline, at about the same height as yours, which got cut-back one winter. It did resprout, with several leading shoots, rather than just 1 upright leader. The coloured forms are usually more frost sensitive than the green varieties.

If you can get hold of some horticultural fleece, and keep it covered for a few weeks, it will prevent any further sharp frosts from attacking it further. Obviously if it's dead, it won't resurrect it, but there is a reasonable chance of it regrowing. The fleece costs a £1 a metre or so, so isn't too much, and can be reused for years. It lets light, air and water through, but increases the temperature by a few degress underneath - I've got some geraniums growing outside, still under it: though they need it with the current freezing weather!

Also, plants in pots have the potential to get their roots frozen, (which can kill plants) so it may be worth bringing it closer to the home, where it's likely a little milder. Protect the pot too, if you can. I'd plant it a little later in spring (when the ground's not frozen) if you think it could have survived - that way it can build up its root system, ready to start growing away.

Good luck! Rob
Reply:Oh what a pity! It sounds dead - those tender southern plants can tend to wither in that bracing Yorkshire air.

We tried to transplant a big one from one garden to another and it died. the roots are soft and easily traumatised.

But I also had onein a pot which lost its leaves through overwatering and thought it was dead but after draining and leaving, new ones sprouted. It's possible.

Check the roots (as another answer says) and if they seem healthy and alive you've probably nothing to lose by waiting. You might even try chopping the stem back to see if anything sprouts at the bottom.
Reply:Sounds like the plant suffered transplant shock and died. All that's left to do is compost/bin/burn it.
Reply:I'm no expert on palms but it does sound like it has died a slow death, not being funny either as some plants will live off their sap for a while, but to be sure just take it out of the pot and inspect the roots

How can I get my Palm TX Launcher changed from bringing up a program as opposed to the Applications?

I got a Palm TX for Christmas and somehow changed the Launcher preferences. The house icon brings up a program that I installed rather than the Applications. I would like to know how to go back to the original setting. Thanks for any help you can offer! r.

How can I get my Palm TX Launcher changed from bringing up a program as opposed to the Applications?
Does the TX have the little bar across the bottom of the screen just below the grafitti/keyboard area? If so, it should have a little house icon that will let you go to the Applications screen. Tap that, then find the Prefs application and tap it.

Once you're in your Prefs application, click on Buttons. This will give you drop-down menus for each of your hard buttons. Next to the house icon, tap and select "Applications," then tap Done.

That SHOULD do it. If not, send me an email and we'll try Plan B :)

What does it take to change a battery on a Palm Zire 72?

My Palm Zire 72 is dead and won't charge up. I am assuming it's the battery. How do I change it? What does that generally cost in your experience?

What does it take to change a battery on a Palm Zire 72?
You would need to take it to a store that can help you do that. Microcenter will probably work.

All you need is a T5 torx screwdriver ($1 or $2 from any electronics store), detailed instructions (available on the web) and some patience. Do it yourself and save a ton of money. Report It

What smartphone and calendar/address book/task manager desktop software is a good alternative to Palm?

I want to switch from a PDA to a smartphone. I currently have the Palm TX and feel it's time to combine cell phone with PDA. I'm ruling out Palm, Apple and Microsoft smartphones and MS Outlook (I would prefer to use a Palm Desktop equivalent).

So my question is: Excluding Palm, Apple and Microsoft solutions, what smartphones and calendar/address book/task manager desktop software are good alternatives to the Palm TX and Palm Desktop?

What smartphone and calendar/address book/task manager desktop software is a good alternative to Palm?
I don't think your going to have many options with the restrictions that you have placed. Most of the devices that I have looked at you will be using if you want a desktop based option.

I would give the Palm Treo's a second look. If you stick to a PalmOS based Treo you won't have any learning curve to learn to use it, and they use Palm Desktop. I don't know who your cellular provider is, but the Centro (Sprint) looks very nice, and the Treo 680 is also a very nice smartphone, although some people add an extended battery.

I have a Treo 650, and would purchase another one. The only gripe I have about the palm phone don't get high speed internet access, but this is a limitation of the OS, not the device itself.

I have a indoor palm tree the leaves on the end is truning brown, what can be done for this and how to prevent
Just cut the stems where the leaves are turning brown, Get a little bit of mushroom compost and some miracle grow and you should be all set
Reply:there are a couple of thing that may be wrong. you may be over or under watering. how often do you water, because 2x a week is more than enought and 1 every 2 weeks is not close to enough. also give it more sun shine and some occasional palnt food.

also this may just be a phase your palm is going thorugh to loose some leaves. it may come back better that ever in the summer
Reply:Two reasons the tips turn brown. The first is they are getting rubbed by furniture or walls and the tips are getting damaged. Just get a sharp pair Of scissors and trim the dead part off. This will not hurt the palm. The second reason is the type of water you are using and the amount. Use distilled water as regular tap water is high in chlorine and fluoride. As a plant breathes through the (stomata) tips of the plant some of the chlorine and fluoride molecules are too large to get through the small stomata. You get a build up and the tips get burnt. Water with bottled water and let it dry a day or two before watering again. If it's in a plastic pot I would re pot it into a large clay one as clay lets the plant breathe and prevents the roots from staying wet. Give it a small mix of fertiliser high in nitrogen. Make it half strength and that way you can give it a steady feed. This time of the year you can give it a little sun. In the summer give it real bright dappled sunlight
Reply:The main reason the tips brown is from salt burn. Look at the bottom inch of the pot or the saucer or the top of the soil. You will probably see a white flaky substance. That's a sure sign. It's probably time to change the pot size too. If the pot size is OK then just take out the plant and change the soil. If you are going to use this pot again clean it up and start over. Be sure to use a filtered water or try catching rain water to water with in the future. One more thing. If there was a good deal of soil that stayed with the plant then slowly run water through the newly planted pot to try and leach out any excess before you take your plant back to its spot in your home.
Reply:put it near a window. it might be lacking some sun.

also go to your local garden centre and look for some nutrients for it.
Reply:you are most likely overwatering, let the soil dry completely before watering again. And from now on let the soil dry between waterings.
Reply:I know of two causes besides overwatering in winter..... one is lack of humidity in the air and the other is the chemicals in the water....

I have a indoor palm tree the leaves on the end is truning brown, what can be done for this and how to prevent
there are a couple of thing that may be wrong. you may be over or under watering. how often do you water, because 2x a week is more than enought and 1 every 2 weeks is not close to enough. also give it more sun shine and some occasional palnt food.

also this may just be a phase your palm is going thorugh to loose some leaves. it may come back better that ever in the summer
Reply:The main reason the tips brown is from salt burn. Look at the bottom inch of the pot or the saucer or the top of the soil. You will probably see a white flaky substance. That's a sure sign.

How often do I need to water my Pigmy Date Palm Trees?

I just bought new pigmy date palm trees and need to know how often to water them. I live in southern arizona and they are in pots in full sun.

How often do I need to water my Pigmy Date Palm Trees?
Whenever the top few inches of soil is dry. This should translate to about every few days to a week. Pygmy date palms are fairly hardy and drought tolerant. Their fronds may turn a bit brown in the middle of summer, because of the heat and low humidity. If this happens, just move them to where they don't get the full midday sun bearing down on them. And, resist the temptation to water them excessively in an attempt to green them back up. More plants are killed by overwatering than underwatering.

How to avoid the the dark circle on my palm ?

I use PC and mouse for 7~8 hours a day %26amp; due to this there is a dark hard circle formed on the corner of my palm. How can I avoid it.

How to avoid the the dark circle on my palm ?
Wash your mouse..or buy a new one. Maybe this one is really dirty. lol just kidding ya! Go for a walk instead of spending all that time on your computer. It will give your hand some fresh air and sunshine, which is nice for everything. You could also try one of those form-fitting gloves, the kind that baseball players use as batting gloves.
Reply:I advise you to do the following:-

1- Use topical products containing hydroquinone %26amp; whitening agents twice daily regularly on this circle.

2- Put a considerable amount of vaseline or any lubricant on all the area of the circle before you begin using your PC daily.

3- Wear a glove on this hand or put any thick protective patch on all this circle's area before you begin using your PC daily.

4- Wash %26amp; rinse this circle in the corner of your palm with water, strong soap %26amp; detergent daily %26amp; regularly after finishing %26amp; ending using your PC.

5- Try to use your other hand as possible in using PC %26amp; mouse and you can rechange between each other (the two hands) in a regular way.

How do I get someone to move a living palm tree off of a property I own?

I have a palm tree I want gone. I want this to be affordable. I want it to be humane. I want only love.

How do I get someone to move a living palm tree off of a property I own?
I wish the previous answerers were correct, but they are not. Only very specific palm trees are desired, and some of those do not transplant well. I tried to sell three, and had no luck. Finally cut them down. By the way, they make awful firewood. After two years of seasoning, they are finally dry enough to burn well.

Before investing even a little money in an ad, check with a local nursery. They will have the straight scoop.
Reply:Someone will take it out for you. Just place an ad in the local paper. FREE FOR REMOVAL. I'm sure you will find a taker.

Palm trees can be quite expensive.
Reply:A local landscaping company will gladly take it off your hands for free, since they can resell it. My parents had a tree in their yard removed by a landscaper for free, and he kept it and sold it to someone who wanted it in their yard. I think landscapers do that kind of thing with trees all the time. Trees are expensive - they will want to preserve it if at all possible. You can go to yellowpages.com and search for landscapers in your area. Good luck!

How can I get rid of Palm registration request?

What is the spider-web stuff on my indoor palm?

There is stuff on the leaves of my indoor palm that looks very much like spider webs, but when I blow on the leaves, it completely disappears. It's killing the plant, and I have no idea what it is. HELP!

What is the spider-web stuff on my indoor palm?
It is spider-mites. Tiny Tiny pest that attack your plants. They live in dust particles on leafs and stems. Very easy to rid....keep you plant clean, a little shower when you water. To get off to the right track you need to spray it with a mild soapy water solution. A few drops of liquid dish soap in a spray bottle of water. Once you have them under control just shower your plant when you water.

Good luck

How do you expose the people who are at the top of the palm oil industry?

Having spent this week watching the orangutan diaries on bbc, I really feel absolutely disgusted that over 10 million acres of forest have SO FAR been destroyed for Palm Oil Plantations. We have a right to know just who the owners and supporters of the palm oil industries are , then we can all make our own descisions to boycott theses people and their companies and products. FOR GODS SAKE STOP THIS INSANITY NOW.

How do we start this ball rolling???????

How do you expose the people who are at the top of the palm oil industry?
It is more effective and thus productive if this problem is looked at from a holistic point of view not just an attempt to pigeon - hole it as a particular industry specific malaise.

When you find a solution to the present distortion in the world economic system between the system of production and the inequality in its eventual distribution, then you would have found the way out.

The present system is driven by greed for profit which must be met by the unholy exploitation and excessive use of both the human and material resources including the plunder of the forests, available within the society.

There is therefore a link between these structures of exploitation and to address it therefore, we must address the process of distorted excessive consumption for the bye- products of these industry in some sections of the globe which in turn drives demand for and then the on - going plunder.

The chain, must be identified which I know is very long, and then severed but what I ask, given the picture we have seen, is it possible to destroy it without causing a major socio-political upheaval?

Thanks and I wish you good luck in your quest.

I tend to only follow the 'News reports' but palm oil keeps appearing and every report seems dead set against it, so a bit of searching and poking around on the site may reveal some answers especially company names and products/uses.

nPower considered using palm oil for power stations, I never realised it was such a sought after fuel, I always assumed it was going to be used as a bio deisel. This is pretty tragic, destroying animals habitats so we can continue living our energy intensive lives.

How can I save my potted palm?

My cats are destroying my potted palm. It was a large potted palm about 3 ft. high. I have it in a pot that has a 10 inch base and wider sides at the top. It does have a drainage hole. The cats have got it down to 3 frons and 3 new shoots. I have taken steps to keep the cats away from it but its really looking terrible. I put sheets of lint roller tape in the pot to keep the cats out and spray them with a plant sprayer.

How can I save my potted palm?
Hi there! Is it only the cats that is giveing your plant a hard time? Is your plant getting enough sunlight/too much sunlight? Potted Palms enjoy as much light as you can give them. I sure hope the kittys havn't been makeing potty in the pot, or that will for sure be the end of it. Acidic and all that.

Keep the soil moist, but not wet. They are also heavy "feeders", meaning they do enjoy a liquid lunch now and then, yes, even in the winter. Keep them warm, no drafts, at least 72*. Trim off any sick or broken branches. Even if it does make it look smaller. When you do water, you should use warm water, remember, do not over water. Moist, but NOT wet. Now, if you REALLY want to go over board, give it a name, like, Hmmm, Fronzzy, and talk to it now and then. Try also putting a few toys or whatever to help keep your cats out. My cat , thank goodness, doesn't like plants. Good luck with "Fronzzy". May the plant gods be with you.

Bertram.
Reply:Do you have a laundry basket that you can put the pot in, as a shield?

Try getting bamboo or dowel rods longer than the plant is tall and stick them around the circumference of the pot.

You might also spray the plant with a spray of water with a bit of veg oil, and hot sauce - as a preventative.

And set up a distraction, perhaps hang a catnip mouse, or buy a small container plant of it.
Reply:Are the cats still a problem? Otherwise in order to try and boost your palm back into shape, make sure you are following the care requirements for your specific palm (water, light, etc.) Also you could give it a water soluable houseplant food, to try and give it a little boost as well. Good luck!!!
Reply:Try a product called "Shake Away for cats". It is made from predatory animal urine and is safe for plants, animals, and children. I use this to keep the cats away from my sandbox.

Good Luck

What is a good house plant? - trying to replace palm majesties...?

I don't have very good luck with Palm Majesties, they are always getting invested with something - but I absolutely love them. What is a good alternative house friendly plant?

What is a good house plant? - trying to replace palm majesties...?
Some idiot-proof plants are philodendrons, aloe vera, dracaena, jade, and cacti. Maybe you'd be better off to go to a local L%26amp;G Center and learn how to take care of your palm since you love them. They take a little pampering but they are not an impossible house plant.
Reply:For close to a window that does not get any sun or set back from a bright window try Ferns, Ficus pumila, Fittonia, Hedera Helix, Philodendron scandens, Sansevieria.

How do I transfer my Palm TX from a PC to a Mac?

I have always used PCs until today when I bought a Mac Book Pro. I installed the Palm software onto my Mac, but I'm afraid to hotsync for fear of what will happen. How do, or can I even do this? I know that Palm isn't famous for their customer support and I haven't found anything in the manual or on their website covering this topic.

Thank you so much!

How do I transfer my Palm TX from a PC to a Mac?
You can sync between the two types of computer without any problem. However, just as a precaution, I would backup all the data on your Palm using a backup card or backup software.
Reply:I've done it before. Just be shure the backup conduit is set to "Palm overwrites desktop" and you'll be fine.

Why is my left hand palm and fingers peeling?

The palm and fingers (not quite to the tips) of my left hand only is peeling. There is a slight tingle on my palm but no rash or redness. It only affects the bottom of my left hand and between my fingers. It comes and goes as well. I use lots of cream but it doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone have any ideas?

Why is my left hand palm and fingers peeling?
something is irritating it.
Reply:It look like you are allergic to some cream or detergent. Otherwise then it might be your hair cream. The way I look at it only certain part of your fingers %26amp; palm are affected. Don't try all kinds of cream. Maybe it would be wise to consult a doctor. The only thing you can do is keep it clean. Wash with mild soap. Then wait for 2-3 days and see what happen. Don't apply any cream it might make the situation worst.
Reply:It could be a form of athletes feet. It can affect the hands. You can buy over the counter meds (tinactin) for this condition.
Reply:some washing up liquids can cause such an irritation

wash the hand regularly and use a good moisturising cream i.e. vaseline but if it does not go away after 2-3 days see a doctor
